Golfers find living or vacationing in Pompano Beach a dream come true, with some of the world's most beautiful and challenging links just a short drive away. It is said that a golfer could play a different course every day and still not tee off on all the links within 30 minutes of Pompano Beach. If your "fun" is spectator oriented, our City offers horse racing at the world famous Pompano Harness Track. If you are a team sports fan, then Pompano Beach is the place to be. Baseball fans have it both ways with the Florida Marlins calling nearby Pro Player Stadium. Football fans can watch the Miami Dolphins host the NFL's best, while if you like to do your spectating in-doors, hockey and basketball fans are only minutes from the home arenas of the Miami Heat and Florida Panthers.
For a more laid-back approach. Pompano Beach, as the name implies, offers miles of beautiful beach, lapped by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Here you can kick back watch the surf, watch the people, or look for the Goodyear blimp that calls Pompano Beach its home.
If you are looking for a place to call home where you can put in a days work and still have time to: play a quick nine on a beautiful course, wet a line in waters inhabited by trophy class denizens of the deep, or just unwind with warm sand between your toes and watch the moon rise over the Gulf Stream then Pompano Beach is your kinda place.

When it comes to education, there may be no finer community in Florida. With public and private education facilities within a mile of our boundaries, we are blessed with a selection of choices that many people drive miles to attend. Floranada Elementary is a national award-winning school and a cornerstone of our community. Floranada is a straight-A rated school that features a new, 14 million dollar campus with state-of-the-art classrooms, dining, library and music facilities. Floranada is the school of choice for most of our residents and a big attraction for families with young children.
Ricards Middle school is on the West side of Dixie Highway in close proximity and just a few blocks up 56th Street is Northeast High -- both are outstanding neighborhood schools.
On our Northern boundary, adjacent to our main entrance off Cypress Creek Road is Pine Crest School, a K-12 private school with a national reputation for excellence in education. On the Eastern end of 56th Street bordering Federal Highway is Westminster Academy, another outstanding private school with a national reputation for excellence in education. There are a number of other excellent schools all within a mile or two of the CRI neighborhood. There are so many choices, you will not be disappointed.
Floranada Park, which is part of the school and is operated by the city, is the centerpiece of the Coral Ridge Isles community with playground, basketball, youth baseball, gazebo, sand volleyball and plenty of open space for children to play. This park is host to many children’s soccer and baseball leagues.
Many community events are held in Floranada Park and enjoyed by all the residents of Coral Ridge Isles. Events range from the annual Floranada Day festival to the Coral Ridge Isles Homeowner’s Association Easter Egg Hunt, Night Out Against Crime and the Holiday Festival held in December. All these events provide an excellent opportunity for residents to get together and make new friends and acquaintances. Hospitals, healthcare options and spiritual worship abound in our area. We have several hospitals including Holy Cross which is ranked as one of the top 50 hospitals in the USA, medical centers and a fire station with emergency response that border our community. And, if staying fit is part of your healthcare regimen, there are two major fitness facilities off Commercial Boulevard. Nationally known churches and temples of a variety of faiths are also within a mile of our neighborhood.
Two major supermarkets are within five blocks of our community in the vicinity of Commercial and Dixie with department stores, drugstores, office supply, and banks, too. We have easy access to I-95 and the Tri-Rail commuter station on Cypress Creek Road. Even the Baltimore Orioles do their spring training two miles west on Commercial Boulevard!
Whew! There are so many incredible options in restaurants, entertainment venues, sports, shopping, beaches, boating, transportation, golf courses and culture options within a short distance of our community; we can’t begin to name them all! And yet, Coral Ridge Isles is a quiet, cozy neighborhood with a lush, tropical fee, canals with ocean access, and a canopy of trees that makes our neighborhood special.
Hillsboro Beach- The Town of Hillsboro Beach is situated on a small peninsula north of Pompano Beach. It extends 3.2 miles from the Hillsboro Inlet on the south to Deerfield Beach on the north and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west. Its greatest width is about 900 feet. I has but one road, State Highway A1A.
The name is derived from the Earl of Hillsborough, to whom large grants of land were made by the English Crown during one of the periods of English possession of Florida that alternated with Spanish ownership. Florida came under the flag of the United States by purchase from Spain in 1819.
The Hillsboro Lighthouse, completed in 1907, marks the northern end of the Florida Reef. It contains a 5,500,000 candlepower light and is the most powerful light on the east coast of the United States. Its height is 136 feet above the water.
In 1922, Herbert L. Malcolm (later a Town Commissioner for ten years and Mayor for two terms) bought land next to the Inlet and built a school. In 1925 he turned the school into a hotel, which became the present Hillsboro Club.
The Town was originally incorporated in 1939 and remained inactive until 1947 when it was incorporated by a special act of the Florida Legislature. The first meeting towards formal incorporation was arranged by Mrs. Marie McCollum and took place in February 1947, at the residence of Mrs. Ruth Markland. At a meeting held on March 4, 1947, Ernest Wooler was elected the first Mayor. At that time the Town had 17 voters, 9 private houses, 4 groups of rental cottages and apartments, and the Hillsboro Club. Highway A1A was an unpaved, sandy road. A narrow bridge, operated by hand connected the Town with Pompano Beach.
Lighthouse Point- is a small town that wishes to remain so. The leisurely lifestyle appeals to its residents and they have no need to be concerned about future expansion. Tucked in among many other communities, it cannot expand. Any worry about the threat of amalgamation into a larger entity is being diminished by preserving city certification. Through providing full service and continuing to work closely with the Florida and Broward Leagues of Cities and other appropriate government agencies, the City is optimistic for the future.
Characterized by informal affluence and a leisurely pace, the attractive neighborhoods are quiet, tree shaded, and water-laced. Of the residences, 80% are single family homes, many of which front on the City's 18 miles of waterways.
The east door of Lighthouse Point opens to the Intracoastal Waterway, sitting under the beam of the famed Hillsboro Lighthouse which has stood constant guard over the Hillsboro Inlet since 1906 and for which the City is named. Federal Highway, with its shopping centers, restaurants, and other business establishments, is the west door. Approximately 20 acres of parks and mini-parks and 13 miles of sidewalks/bike paths symbolize the nature of community life. Streets wind and twist and there are many cul-de-sacs.
Incorporated in 1956, the City has few remaining vacant lots today. Better than 95% of the City is developed and most homes fall into the upper-medium and top-price range.
Police and fire protection are excellent and the City successfully operates its own library. Recreation amenities include the Lighthouse Point Tennis Center and Dan Witt Park for playing sports, in addition to natural environment parks and mini-parks.
For young and old alike, Lighthouse Point provides the friendly atmosphere of a self-sufficient, prosperous, and proud Community
